It's crazy but true-it's only been three years since we shot our first wedding together. Three years since Jonathan picked me up at the Nashville airport and we headed into a weekend adventure of shooting our beloved friends' wedding.
Matt and Kayci are so dear to us and we were more than excited to be a part of their special day.
The hilarious thing is, we both thought we were The Head Honcho, the Main Cheese, the Chief Photographer so our tensions ran high throughout the day of shooting.
We weren't even engaged at the time, hadn't talked about running a photography business together.
Little did we know, within a year, we would commence both.
We've learned a lot in the last few years-many lessons the hard way.
We do so much differently now than we did when we were first starting.
We now communicate before each and every shoot to pick who will take the lead. We even shoot differently than we did "way back when." We take the time to learn from each other, rather than thinking we have it all figured out on our own.
Yes, in many weeks the journey has been hard or confusing or tricky. It's also been beautiful and full of happy surprises.
In short, we wouldn't change it for the world.
And thank goodness we both had a hand to hold along the way.
p.s. Happy 3 years, Matt and Kacyi!
