Oleg Oprisco is a film photographer with a very unique vision. Born in the small town of Lviv in western Ukraine, his world changed when he became the operator of a darkroom when he was 16 years old. When he was 18, he moved to Kiev where he assisted a well-known advertising photographer for four years. At 23, feeling unsatisfied, he began creating his own vision and taking his own photos. The work speaks for itself.
Part of the allure of Oprisco’s imagery lies in the colour palette, which is soft and rich creating an everyday dreamscape. He says that real life is a constant source of inspiration because it holds so much beauty. When coming up with a concept, Oprisco likes to set the scene himself by creating the clothing, the location and directing the hair and makeup. Before the actual shoot, he plans the overall feel and colour scheme by using props that he, himself has hand chosen and also by looking for locations that provide the right kind of natural lighting, which is the only light he will shoot with.
