In my opinion the most important part of being successful in a creative field is setting goals; daily, weekly, monthly, and even annually. They keep me focused and they help motivate me on the days I just want to cozy up with a spiced chai tea and Netflix. I have an A type personality so I like everything to be very organized, especially my goals. I have goals that I would like to achieve solely within my summer internship, goals that I want to focus on in my personal time and long term goals that I hope to achieve later on in life, ones that take years of hard work as well as a lot of focus.
The most important thing I would like to achieve in any part of my life is to constantly be learning, take something new from every experience and constantly progress forward with myself, and my photography. Throughout my internship I would love to learn how to interact with clients in a business manor, with that I want to be able to set up a session confidently, as well as professionally handle any client. I think the best way to learn anything is to gain first hand experience; so being given the opportunity to work side by side with Jon and Layne is very exciting for me.
Within the next year I would like to achieve a variety of goals within my personal photography such as studying posing, including portrait poses for individuals, couples, and fashion. I want to learn to train my eye to pay attention to every little detail. I want to continue to find my own personal style, one that will set me apart from other photographers in my line of work. I plan to achieve all of this by shooting more and more.
My overall goal is to become a fashion photographer and have my work published in magazines. So let’s see I can make all of this happen!
The Summer Intern,
Stephanie
