This has been an interesting season for us and much of the reason we've fallen off the social media wagon has been that we've had little space for it over the winter. To give you an idea, here's what a 'typical' Jono/Laynie day looks like:
7-7:30 am: wake up, drink coffee together and Layne does homework
7:30-5 pm: Layne continues to do homework (or goes to class or work), and Jonathan goes to work [or a couple of times a week - badminton!]
5-7 pm: Jonathan goes grocery shopping, comes home and cooks dinner (Layne does homework)
7 pm: we eat! we look into each other's eyeballs! we hold hands!
7:30 pm: Layne or Jon does the dishes while Jonathan starts some laundry
8 pm: Laynie does homework; Jonathan folds laundry and watches TV
9 pm: exhausted, we watch something together, maybe Sharktank.
10:30 pm: we fall asleep holding hands...or (in the non-social media version of our life) on opposite corners of the bed
We are so, so, so grateful for this season. In many ways, it is a season of rest (at least for the Jonathan half of us), and Layne will forever be glad she had the chance to go back to school for her master's.
So while we're not very social in this season, or particularly interesting, or doing some of the other things we love, at least we're enjoying what deep winter does have to offer us - a break from our 'normal' nine months of the year.
How has your winter been? Comment and let us know!
