As we were flying into Kona a couple of weeks ago, I thought to myself, "Self, you should do a mermaid photo shoot while you are here." Obviously.
I pondered this a bit but it wasn't until Mandie came on board as a stylist and some of the girls from the class signed up to be models and hairstylists and make-up artists that this little experiment really got off the ground.
So this inspired shoot -which I'm posting a bazillion photos of (because these girls are SO Ridiculously Gorgeous and so you can see all the "behind the scenes" stuff)- is really the result of so many. It takes a village, people.
A fatty, fatty THANK YOU TO:
for the creativity geniuses behind this shoot Maddie Jardine: overall design Kyla Liptack: hair Maddy Holcomb: make up Jonathan Grime: lighting Rachel Hoover: first lighting assistant Catherine Elizabeth Greene: other first lighting assistant
Also, I wish these photos did justice to how dangerous this shoot was. There were slippery rocks and sea urchins everywhere. We all just kind of held on to each other and took one baby step after another with our fatty cameras through the pools of water. Or maybe that was just me.
This is what is happening "outside the scene."
