We went on a ski/snowboard trip earlier this week with our friends Adam & Alisa + Ayron & Rachel.

EVER.
We stayed the day on the snowy hills and then retired to our hotel for a leisurely dinner and hours of games and chats. I'm already putting it on my calendar to be an annual event for next year.
To be honest, I'm not even particularly good at skiing. It's been about 15 years since I "hit the slopes" and even then I am not sure anything I've ever skied on counts as more than a slope.
But here's the thing-skiing was so good for my soul. Because I am not good at it. Because I don't feel in control. Because I felt as if every minute was uncomfortable and stretching and a bit scary. Okay, some moments were a lot scary.
And I loved it. Don't get me wrong-I'm no Brittany Phelan but I did get off the bunny hill this time around, which is more than I can say about our last snowboarding trip.
It was a perfect start to our weekend...which isn't really a weekend, but whatever.
I hope you are enjoying your days off and getting your fill of the Olympics. {For once in our marriage Jonathan bounded out of bed before me-he woke up and couldn't stop thinking about the snowboarding competitions so he got up to stream them while it was still dark outside. Hehe. So cute.}
What's your favorite Olympic sport to watch?
Thank goodness for new beginnings every morning, days off, friends, adventures and the great outdoors.
