We love featuring various artists on our blog. The world is full of so many talented people and celebrating everyone's gifts is one of our favourite things. If you think of anyone who you think would like to be featured, shoot us a message!
Introduce yourself. Where are you from?
I was born in Paris and moved away when I was 18. I just returned back in 2014.
Tell us about your work. How/When did you get started with your work?
I have always loved textiles, working with colours and noting how they interact. My mother taught me how to knit before I started school and I have been a weaver for about a decade.
Why did you choose this career path? What made you interested in your art?
My formal education was as a scientist, specifically in the field of virology. My passion is textile art, I am drawn to the feel, motion and beauty of how fibers come alive and interact when woven or knitted together.
Who is your inspiration?
Anyone who wears clothes, which is pretty much everyone (thank goodness...). I am always looking at how fabrics, clothing and fiber art are made.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I want to continue to improve my techniques and stretch the limits of my creativity by venturing into using lots of different types of fiber in the same art form.
