I don't think we have enough space to write our entire story on here...it's quite long, confusing, and quirky...but we'll do our best!
Em- We actually met through Martial Arts! I got my back belt from him and he got many painful kicks in the stomach from me;) Many years later, I had my daughter abi and Joe sold the school and moved away. We stayed in touch every now and then through email but only the usual "how's it going?"
Joe - So almost a year later I got the usual "how's it going email" from Em and replied telling her that I was back in town. She asked if I wanted to meet up and meet Abi, so we did. We met up a few times until Em's parents started to be a little uneasy about us meeting up because they didn't want her getting hurt.
Em- Which was understandable do to my situation. We got to meet up at timmies for one hour at a time lol. Joe had to drive 3 hours there and back each time, just to see me for an hour. We would talk the whole hour and then text all day long. We never ran out of things to talk about...it just felt right.
So I talked to my parents and told them this was going to be a serious thing, that I'd never do anything or be with anyone who wouldn't be a positive impact in Abi's life. They were awesome about it.
At this point we had been seeing each other for a while, it was "Facebook official" and all haha. Joe asked me what I wanted to be doing in 3 years. I said being at home with Abi until she starts school was really important to me. I wanted to teach classes on the side, but my main job would be a stay at home mom. I said I wanted to be married, have a nice home and a family.
Joe- That's when I decided I wanted to open another martial arts school. One that was different from the rest and made a positive impact in our town. Em and I made plans, found a place to rent, and started it all up.This is where our new life began.
February of that year (valentine's day to be exact) I took Abi to the mall to pick out an engagement ring for Em (mommy:)
Em- I remember it perfectly. They walked in, I was in the living room.Joe gets down on one knee, Abi sits down on his knee and says "Mommy, will you marry Gogo? " (that's what she called Joe lol) I cried a little but pretended not too because I didn't want to scare Abi hahaha. It was the absolute best way he could have asked me to marry him.
Joe - Okay. so let's fast forward a little to today. We now have a 3 month old son named Owyn, together. Abi's starting school in September, I'm still running The Dojo, and Em's still doing what she loves- being a mommy.
3 quirks... Um this is hard. We have so many haha! The first time Joe asked if he could kiss me I panicked and practically yelled "Maybe!" he asked what it depended on and I said "Abi's head being in the way" (she was on my lap) hahaha.
We both love making up funny games to play when we go places. Ex: I'll give joe a weird word that he has to try and use as many times as he can while teaching. Or we have to try and get as many people as we can to say a certain word.
We cannot tell jokes. We're naturally pretty funny people, but when it comes to actually telling jokes...it usually ends with me laughing uncontrollably before I've told the joke, and Joe usually starts going on a rant about something completely different in the middle of a joke. So there it is!I guess we were just two weirdos who were meant to be. :) Our wedding date is October 17th 2015, and we would be absolutely honored to have you guys as our photographers.
